“Zelmira” restaurant overlooks the beautiful and quiet piazzetta di San Giacomo, located in the historic centre of Modena, where Via Carteria meets Via Canalchiaro.
In its centre, the “Ninfa” fountain by Modenese sculptor Graziosi adorns this bucolic corner of Modena.
The culinary heritage of Signora Zelmira, the first owner of the restaurant to which it owes its historic name, had been handed down over the years, passing from one management
to the next, until the siblings Ermanno and Maria Grazia bought the restaurant in 1998 and reintroduced the restaurant's traditional dish, the “Nido”, on the menu.
The restaurant began as a family business with chef Ermanno at the cooker, Maria Grazia at the reception in the dining room and her mother, a true Modenese sfoglina (pasta maker), in the preparation of homemade pasta. Since 2002, it is Maria Grazia who has continued the business started with her brother and is now delighted to welcome you to her corner of paradise, where you can enjoy refined dishes combined with the authentic flavours of Modenese tradition.
